Volunteer
at the Carnegie Art Museum
Want to enlarge your cultural horizons,
quench a thirst for art, or help a worthy cause?
The Carnegie Art Museum in Oxnard, the only museum in Ventura
County solely devoted to the fine arts, serves 30,000 residents
and visitors annually and is looking for a few good volunteers
to help its many programs grow.
Adults 18 years old and up, who can contribute
8-20 hours of volunteer service and responsible commitment monthly
may contact the Carnegie Art Museum at 424 South C Street in
Downtown Oxnard for a volunteer application at (805) 385-8158
or (805) 385-8254. Applications are followed by an
interview.
Volunteers' services are needed to assist
a wide range of projects such as:
archiving, porch gardening, special events, networking, visitor
reception, clerical organization, and mailings. Volunteers
are also sought to assist the Museum Education Department in
preparation for tours, family programs, workshops and members
studio visits. Projects can also be customized to
meet a volunteer's special work experiences. Due to the security
and safety requirements of the museum environment all volunteers
will be asked to have finger prints taken. The Carnegie
Art Museum is housed in a historic Neoclassical building
next to Plaza Park and Centennial Park at in Downtown Oxnard
at 424 South C Street.
