Volunteer
at the Carnegie Art Museum

Want to enlarge your cultural horizons, quench a thirst for art, or  help a worthy cause?  The Carnegie Art Museum in Oxnard, the only museum in Ventura County solely devoted to the fine arts, serves 30,000 residents and visitors annually and is looking for a few good volunteers to help its many programs grow.

Adults 18 years old and up, who can contribute 8-20 hours of volunteer service and responsible commitment monthly may contact the Carnegie Art Museum at 424 South C Street in Downtown Oxnard for a volunteer application at  (805) 385-8158 or (805) 385-8254.   Applications are followed by an interview.

Volunteers' services are needed to assist a wide range of projects such as:
archiving, porch gardening, special events, networking, visitor reception, clerical organization, and mailings.  Volunteers are also sought to assist the Museum Education Department in  preparation for tours, family programs, workshops and members studio visits.   Projects can also be customized to meet a volunteer's special work experiences. Due to the security and safety requirements of the museum environment all volunteers will be asked to have finger prints taken.  The Carnegie Art Museum  is housed in a historic Neoclassical building next to Plaza Park  and Centennial Park at in Downtown Oxnard at 424 South C Street.
