All of the following happened to me in South Carolina (go figure).

Almost a year and a half ago, in March, my friends and I went down to Atlanta and then to Charleston, South Carolina. We were bored when we got there, so my friend decided to take us to "The Caves." Doesn't sound scary, huh? Well, it's just a huge cave where satanic worshippers go and gather. But we girls were freaked out. We decided to stay under the safety of a street lamp, but the guys went to the mouth of the cave. The boys checked out the graffiti, and one of them, Jason, started to run toward us. That sent ALL of us running, and my sister even jumped the five foot fence that you have to climb over. Later he told us he didn't see anything, he just wanted to get the hell out of there. Anyway, I was still scared.

When we got back to the house we were staying at, everyone wanted to go dancing. It just so happens that I am a few years younger than the rest of them, so I had to stay at the house by myself. This house happens to have a little history behind it dealing with a few ghosts. I wasn't too scared (yeah right) and told them to go on, and that I'd be okay on my own. After they left I was just sitting on the couch and watching TV. About an hour later, all the lights turned off, and then came back on. I just thought, "It's only a problem with the electricity." But it happened again and this time, I had to get up and turn the TV back on. At this point I was a bir freaked out. It was only 12:30 a.m., and the others wouldn't be back for another two hours. So I tried to sleep. I dozed off a few times but I kept on hearing things.

Finally, around 1:25, I heard the side door open. The house's garage was turned into another room, with a door VERY hard to open or close inside of the house. I didn't want to run to my friends like a chicken, so I stayed on the couch. Ten minutes later, no one had come in. I finally got the guts to see if anyone was in the extra room. I had to pull really hard to open the door. When I finally managed to open it, the room was silent and dark. I quickly closed it back, but had to put all my body weight against it to close it. I ran back to the couch and hid under the covers, as though I were 9 years old again. I thought to myself, "This is ridiculous. Instead of hiding, why don't you do the dishes for his mom?" So I got up to do the dishes in my friend's kitchen, anything to make the time pass. Keep in mind, the door isnext to the kitchen, but you can't see it from the sink. As I was doing the dishes, I heard the door slam shut. I thought, "Wow, they're home early," and I called out to them, "Did you have fun?" But there was no answer. I stopped doing the dishes and went to the door. No one was there. The air conditioner wasn't on, and neither was the fan. Ther was no breeze to close it, and I never left that door open. I started to go ballistic and hid under the covers with a cross in my hand. About a half an hour later, I heard the door again. I peeked out for a second... and my friend were home!

I told them about what happened and my friend said, "It was probably my ghost. She didn't follow me tonight." In his family, on the male side, a ghost has followed every single one of them.

About a month later, I woke up late one night and couldn't breathe. Something was on my chest weighing down on it. It happened for about ten seconds and as soon as I could breathe again, I heard, just barely, laughing.

Six months later, my friends and I got bored one night in Clemson, South Carolina (sound familiar?) But htis time, it was a smaller group of us (six, last time it was ten). We went to the botanical gardens at midnight or so. What we were doing was trespassing. So that got us worked up, the thought of being caught. None of these guys knew of any ghosts in this area, so I wasn't that scared. It was pitch black and we only had two flashlights. One was a decent one, the other was a keychain. I didn't have either one. As we were walking on the trails, my brother thought it would be funny to run ahead of us and scare us. My friend (who had the keychain) ran after him. This caused a chain reaction where everyone ran after them. Being the shortest one, I couldn't catch up with them. Finally, I was by myself. I just stood in this clearing for a while. But then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a light of some sort. But I didn't see anything, it was too bright.

Then all of a sudden, my friend was in front of me, shaking me. He was yelling my name until I finally snapped out of it. I was like, "what's the big deal?" Then he told me that he was looking for me for half an hour. I said, "That's impossible, I just turned around--" and he yelled, "You're bleeding!" I looked at my shirt and hands, and there was blood. My nose had started to bleed. Then he took my back to the car. None of us are sure what exactly happened that night. Some said it was a UFO, but I didn't believe that. Maybe it was a ghost. But I'll never know, and frankly, I'd rather not.
