Electrical Poltergeist
I was told this one by a friend who said this happened to a relative of his.
Nancy was working on a jigsaw puzzle at home alone one night. The TV was turned to a talk show. She wasn't really paying attention to the TV, but she felt comfortable with it on. Engrossed in the puzzle she didn't notice that the audio of the television had become garbled. Slowly she started to notice that the voices were distorted, and they didn't match up with the speaker's mouths. She picked up the remote and flipped through the channels, the picture changed, but not the sound. She turned off the TV and the sound slowly faded away. The silence made her almost as scared as the noise did. She turned on the radio only to hear that same noise! It was the talk show on TV, except it sounded like it was being stretched out! She turned it off and picked up the phone to call a friend to pick her up, but instead of a dial tone she heard a screeching! From the kitchen she heard the blender, dish washer, and the garbage disposal turn on! From the garage came the sound of various power tools! The radio and TV suddenly came on! Then it stopped. The rest of her family returned minutes later to find her curled up in a corner of her room crying. After some time of trying to get her to stop her parents finally got the story out of her. The couldn't make heads or tails of it. 'You must have had a dream or something,' her father said. 'I wasn't asleep the whole night!' Nancy said. The conversation came up with many ideas, but no one suggested it was a ghost. The had a electrition come and check out the wiring, but he didn't find anything wrong. Near the end of his check everything turned on like before! He unplugged a few things and they turned off slowly. Everything stoped a few minutes later. 'I don't know what to tell you,' the electrician said. 'I've never seen anything like this before.' This happened many times over the next few months scaring the family into considering moving. But before they could call anyone about selling, the TV alone turned on to a station playing the Star Spangled Banner as it was going off-line for the night. Then it went to static. The family decided to wait for the occurance to happen again before calling a realestate agent about selling the house. It never happened again.
