Moorpark Memorial Union High School

Moorpark's first permanent high school structure was started in 1920 when the cornerstone was laid for the Moorpark Memorial Union High School. It was used for nearly 20 years before it had to be demolished due to damage recieved in an earthquake. In 1939, Moorpark started construction of its second permanent high school, and the student body said goodbye to the town's first alma mater.
The cornerstone from the first high school was salvaged and put next to the cornerstone for the new high school which was built in 1939. To this day, both cornerstones are intact and can be seen on the northeast corner of the high school's old auditorium located at 280 Casey Road.
