The City of Simi Valley, with an estimated  population of  122, 485 is the fourth largest of Ventura County's ten cities.  It is located in Southeast Ventura County and is adjacent to the northwestern perimeter of the San Fernando Valley. It is located 40 miles northwest of the Los Angeles Civic Center, 400 miles south of San Francisco, 150 miles north of San Diego, and 350 miles south of Sacramento. The City was incorporated in 1969 under the general laws of the State of California and currently occupies an area of about 38.9 square miles. Transportation to and from the City is provided through the following means:

Rail:   Union Pacific Railroad for freight service; Amtrak and Metrolink for passenger service

Air:  Los Angeles International Airport, 53 miles;  Burbank Airport, 30 miles; Camarillo Airport, 23 miles

Bus: Local bus system with connections to Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) and Ventura Intercity Service Transit Authority (VISTA).  Taxi services are also available.

Water:  Port facilities are located in Port Hueneme, approximately 30 miles.

Highway:   Highway 118 connects with State Highways 23 and 101, Interstates 5, 405, and 210.
