Greetings from Southern CA.Hello my name is Valerie and I am the owner/operator of Katascali. Katascali has been a CFA registered cattery since 1985 and features the Birmans: Sacred Cats of Burma. Hence my websites is divided into two entities: Katascali Cattery and the Temple of the Sacred Cat. The temple is a realm of the Sacred Cat based on the Birman legend and a whole lot of imagination. In surfing throughout the web, I have found some very imaginative site, which I try to bring together in the Mystic Cat Ring. I have keen interested in the philosophy and ancient cultures. I subscribe to the rule, "do what ye will but harm ye none" and advocated tolerance in everything that hurts no one. I have a daughter who is all grownup and I am married to a rocket scientist (for real). We both meet at while as undergraduates at the Illinois Institute of Technology. I majored in Design and he in Mechanical engineering. We both went to graduate school at ASU were we got married. |

In 1991 introduction to computer graphics (PhotoShop since v.1.5,) I became a Mac enthusiast and computer specialist, at the Mac graphic lab at Moorpark Collage. I now own a design firm specializing in graphical development of multimedia (CD-games), websites and of course, raising fabulous Birmans Cats. return topics |

EarthquakeRemember the Northridge earthquake? Northridge is about 35 miles from downtown LA, I live 14.5 miles from Northridge. This was the most terrifying experience in my life. And because at the time I had laryngitis I have been deprived of talking about it. Now I don't feel so bad anymore because as of today I now have a new roof, two new sewer lines, one new waterline, one new driveway, one half of the house has been ceramic tiled, and best of all I just made my last payment. I do want to thank FEMA, (especially the person that came to inspect my home) they really helped when the sewer line broke. I also thank God that we all survived. |

People have asked my how did I evacuate with all those cats in an RX7? Well, I have a lot of cat carriers, and when the fire got near enough I rented a van. A few months ago the fires came through again. I rented a van, but I didn't worry as much as before because I had replaced my wood shingle roof. return to topics |

Book Review "Web Concept & Design"A comprehensive guide for creating effective web site by Crystal
Waters. This Christmas I received a number of books on web page creation. With all the books out there, and considering the fact that I designed over 50 web pages, the last thing I would want for Christmas is another book on web page design. To me it's like getting another frying pan. Or for you guys, another tie. As I opened up my presents, my first web page book looked good
"Web Concept & Design" A comprehensive guide for creating effective
web site by Crystal Waters. I was gleeful as I looked at the cover.
I thought hum, maybe I'll get some ideas. My personal goal is
to design web pages that are visually pleasing; to be as near
to a work of art that a web page can be. The words used in the
title of the book (concept & design) I assumed to be conceptual
design. Boy, I was wrong! Never mind the word "creating". |
