Once again I took some pic's of the show. I have a few images of cats finaling. Some of them are campaigners from out of region. This was a mega show. I think I am under estimating but my guest is about 8,000 per day at the gate. This made it difficult to get to the rings. Especially when your are short and no one can see you, nor hear you yell "cat coming through!" Thank heaven the announcer (some cat by the name of Tuna) asked the spectators to make way for the cats.
One of the highlights was the Friskies award for the highest scoring cat in show. I got the picture but no names. There just wasn't any time. So you all can help me out here, with the name of the cat(s), the breeder(s) etc. I can then add the captions.
The membership of the San Diego Cat Fancers and George and Kim Eigenhausers did a fabulous job. So did the show announcers Charlie Anderson (Tuna Cats). Beside having a good clear voice, he periodically told spectators to please not touch the cats without permission and to watch out for exhibitors and their cat going to and from the ring. I have been going to the San Diege show since the 80's and it is just humble opinion that this show was their largest and the best.
I must also mention that the media coverage for both days was shown over all the networks. This must be the result of the pre-show advertising. They definitely did a professional job.
Some of you may have notice my posts in the past concerning fancy safe humane orgs. Well this show had many from the San Diego area. One in particular is PAWS/San Diego which provides cat sitting and other services for pets owned by people with AIDS. Its sad to say that too many have only the love of their pets to see them through. It is with that thought . . .
