Ms. Flickinger's P.E. Classes

September 6, 2005

Westlake Hills Parents:

I am happy to be your child's PE Specialist again this year. As in the years past, please make sure your child wears appropriate clothing, such as comfortable shoes for running and playing games and clothing that can get dirty. Since the grass tends to be wet in the mornings, students, who have PE in the early morning, should keep an extra pair of socks in their backpacks, so they can change into a dry pair at the end of class. Water bottles are fine to bring to class.

Since PE is a state mandatory class, students cannot be excused from PE unless they have a note from their guardian or doctor. Students with excused notes / conditions will complete alternative activities or assignments as directed by their regular classroom teacher.

Grades are based on the following:
Sportsmanship – Playing well with others.
Participation - Participation to the best of one's ability in all P.E. classes.
Cooperation - Listening and obeying the rules and the teacher.
Dress - Wearing the appropriate clothing.

All I ask is that a student listens in class and does his or her best.
I am looking forward to a fun and exciting school year with your children.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Flickinger
