- Students understand basic computer concepts. They are able to identify the visible parts of the computer and how they are used, understand the difference between save and save as, identify icons and why they are used, print their own work, turn on and shut down a computer, insert a CD in the disk drive properly.
- Demonstrate computer etiquette.
- Begin keyboarding at the end of the school year and are familiar with home row keys and correct hand positioning.
- Type a simple paragraph using basic formatting: change font, text color, size. Use commas, periods and correct spacing, tab, center and left justify text. Understand different methods for correcting mistakes.
- Use Painting program to create a work of art. Use multiple tools including multiple shapes from tool bar, a variety of paintbrush shapes, paint mode, duplicate and move objects.
- Utilize multi-media software to create a simple slide show with animation.
