Fifth Grade Goals For Technology

Students will understand more advanced computer concepts:
familiar with computer terminology: operating system, hardware/software, etc.,
use multiple files simultaneously.

Demonstrate computer etiquette.

Keyboard with 95% accuracy at 20 words per minute.

Use more complex word processing skills: format, copy and paste, change margins, page setup, columns, insert from multiple files.

Use Painting program to create works of art: duplicate objects, utilize a variety of painting techniques including: resizing, rotating, creating multiple borders.

Understand the benefit of spreadsheets and how to use them. Create charts and math tables. Understand the use of formulas for: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, square root.

Utilize multi-media software to create a slide show with buttons and animation; inserting objects from multiple files.

Understand Internet terms and research techniques. Familiar with World Wide Web, web browser, Internet Service Provider, search engine, key words, and safety rules.
